Overview

This is a shared tour, it will be a small group at maximum 7 passengers.
We will pick you up from "Fântâna de la Universitate" and we're going to drive about two hours to the first stop where we will have a coffee and a snack. Then we will see the only fortress built by Vlad the Impaler (Poienari Citadel), which is under temporary renovation, so we will admire it only from the outside.
After that you will have to cross on foot one of the largest dams in Romania, it is 310 meters long and 150 meters high. Here we will also admire a 10 km long lake.
We are going to cross a large forest and stop in the alpine gap at an impressive waterfall.
Then we will reach the top of the mountain - Bâlea glacial lake - our destination, which is located at an altitude of over 2000 meters (6700 feet).
From here the view over the Transfăgărășan road is magnificent.
Here you will have two hours of free time to go hiking, admire nature or have lunch.
