Overview

Romania has been making wine for centuries and is the 6th producer in Europe.

On this day trip from Bucharest you will get a full introduction to Romanian wines: we travel to countryside hills terraced with vineyards, visit an old 'boyar' manor, do a tasting with premium wines, visit wine cellars and enjoy a delicious wine-paired lunch!

We will also visit the Snagov Monastery the place where Vlad the Impaler is buried – an ancient monastic establishment, a historical monument, an architectural jewel of feudal art, and an important tourist attraction located on an island of the Snagov Lake, near Bucharest

On the way back we will stop at Mogosoaia to see the Palace and the Royal Court of the most famous romanian ruler from the end of the 17th century, located in a forest on the edge of a lake.

What To Expect

Snagov Monastery
Tiny Snagov Island, at the northern end of Snagov Lake, is home to Snagov Monastery and Vlad Ţepeş' alleged final resting place. The small stone church dates from the 15th century; Vlad Ţepeş’ purported grave is located towards the back of the church.
The island is connected to the mainland by bridge.

Crama Budureasca
The southern position, the long period of sun shine throughout the year and the extremely fertile soils, formed of chernozem and limestone, work together to provide Budureasca wines with very special flavors and properties. Black grapes, such as Feteasca Neagră, Shiraz or Cabernet Sauvignon are the most favored by the environmental factors in the area, as they need a greater amount of energy to ripen properly and reach full maturity.

Mogosoaia Palace
Mogosoaia Palace easily passes as one of the most beautiful monuments around Bucharest. With a history that goes back more than 300 years, part of the lives of some of the greatest families in the history of Southern Romania, the palace and its vast gardens are an excellent weekend destination.
