This is a private tour from Bucharest to Northern Bulgaria.
You will discover the history and traditions of the North Balkans.
We will start in the morning and drive to the border crossing point to Bulgaria. Here you will have to show your passports.
First visit it will be at the only active church dug into the rock: Basarbovo Monastery.
On the way to Veliko we make a short stop for a snack.
The next stop will be at the massive Tsarevets Fortress, built in the 12th century, which was the captain of the Bulgarian Empire until the 14th century.
We will have a small walking tour to the top of the fortress, at the superbly painted Patriarchal Cathedral.
We'll have lunch in Veliko Tarnovo city center, in a restaurant with a gorgeous view and very tasty traditional bulgarian food.
After we will drive up to Arbanassi Village, an mediterranean architectural UNESCO reserve unique in Bulgaria. Here we will visit the interior of Konstantilieva House, a merchants house from the 17th century.
